Here are some tips that may help provide relief from scorching heat:

    Stay Hydrated
    • Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty. Aim for at least 8 cups per day.
    • Avoid alcohol and sugary drinks, which can dehydrate you further.
    • Eat hydrating foods like watermelon, cucumber, and leafy greens.

    Keep Cool

    • Use fans, air conditioning, or cool wet towels to lower your body temperature.
    • Take cool showers or baths to lower your skin temperature.
    • Wear lightweight, light-colored, and loose-fitting clothing.
    • Spend time in air-conditioned public spaces like libraries, malls, or movie theaters.

    Adjust Your Activities

    • Limit time outdoors during the hottest parts of the day (usually 10am-4pm).
    • Reschedule outdoor activities for cooler times of day, like early morning or evening.
    • Avoid strenuous exercise during extreme heat.

    Use Cooling Techniques
    • Apply a cool, damp cloth to your forehead, neck, or wrists.
    • Use a portable misting fan or spray bottle filled with water.
    • Place a bowl of ice in front of a fan to create a makeshift air conditioner.

    Stay Safe
    • Check on family, friends, and neighbors who are more vulnerable to heat.
    • Be aware of signs of heat-related illness like dizziness, nausea, or confusion.
    • Never leave children or pets unattended in a vehicle.
