Victoria station: One dead and two injured in bus crash

A woman has died and two people were injured in a crash between two buses outside London Victoria rail station.

A pedestrian in her 30s was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services were called at 08:25 BST, the Metropolitan Police said.

Two other people were treated for minor injuries at a bus stand outside the central London station.

Transport for London commissioner Andy Byford said he was "extremely saddened that a woman had tragically died".

The woman's next of kin have been informed and no arrests have been made.

Melissa Burr, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene on Tuesday morning after a single-decker 507 crashed into another. Two others sustained minor injuries at the central London bus stand. "We are absolutely devastated by loss and the hole that this incident has left in our lives," a family spokesperson said.

A 507 single-decker bus was pictured with a smashed windscreen after it crashed into the back of another bus and crumpled its rear bumper.

Police were called at 8.25am to reports of the collision at the central London hub.

The woman, believed to be in her 30, was pronounced dead shortly after.

Witnesses described hearing a big bang as passersby rushed to help before emergency services arrived.
