Hey everyone!
Manchester Pride 2025 (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cz9313x8y81o) is lighting up the city once again over the August bank holiday weekend — and this year’s theme and execution seem to be more powerful and inclusive than ever before. ✨
Whether you're attending or just following from afar, this year's event highlights more than just music and celebration — it’s a true reflection of community (https://www.ukspeaks.co.uk/forums/7-New-Members-Introduction), activism, and representation.
What’s Happening This Year?
The Gay Village Party at Sackville Gardens is the heart of it all — a ticketed space filled with music, performance, and queer joy. What stands out is how inclusive the artist lineup is:
96% queer representation
Over 51% people of colour
A majority of performers are women
Strong inclusion of trans, non-binary, disabled, and neurodivergent voices
Beyond the Party:
Family Pride MCR and Youth Pride MCR offer safe spaces for LGBTQ+ families and young people.
There are also sober spaces, respite areas, and a Human Rights Forum — proving that Pride isn’t just about partying; it's about connection, reflection, and visibility for all.
Local Meets Global:
While some big names are part of the lineup, this year’s focus is on local queer talent — drag artists, community activists, DJs, and performers who reflect the grassroots essence of Pride.
Let’s Discuss:
What do you think about the effort to make the lineup truly inclusive this year?
Have you attended Manchester Pride before? How does 2025 compare to previous years?
Do you believe Pride events (https://www.megri.co.uk/pride-in-london-2018-everything-you-need-to-know-about) should lean more into community and activism alongside celebration?
What does Pride mean to you personally — jprideoy, protest, remembrance, representation, or all of it?
Whether you're marching, dancing, performing, or just watching with pride — this event continues to show why Manchester remains a beacon for LGBTQ+ celebration and advocacy. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Share your thoughts, experiences, or plans for this year’s Pride!
